AIR VENT CONTROL.

Problem: Permanently opened air inlets increase the vehicle’s drag.

AERO WHEEL RIMS.

How it works

Air vent control.

Open air vents in the front apron allow the engine compartment to cool. Air vent control results in a systematic improvement of the aerodynamics. When the air vents are open, more air flows to the engine allowing it to reach its optimum operating temperature faster. However, open air vents also increase drag, so air vent control ensures that the vents are only open when the brakes, engine or other components need to be cooled. The result is not just lower fuel consumption, but also less exterior noise. In addition, using air vent control lengthens engine life.

Aero wheel rims.

The wheel housing on a vehicle plays a large role in the overall amount of drag experienced. And the wheels themselves influence vehicle-specific drag due to the air turbulence they create. Resistance-optimised Aero wheel rims in turbine wheel design reduce this effect by countering this turbulence effectively, channelling the air along the sides of the vehicle and reducing wind resistance. The result is lower consumption.

Air Curtain.

The Air Curtain reduces drag on the bodyshell in a very simple, but extremely effective way. Two narrowing channels guide the airstream through the front apron and past the wheels. This reduces the air turbulence in the wheel housings, which decreases fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. A further benefit of the Air Curtain is that it contributes to improved cooling of important vehicle components.
