The petrol direct injection system (High Precision Injection), with its precise electronically-controlled injections that target the spark plugs, ensures highly-efficient fuel combustion. This enables the engine to work in lean-burn mode even at high speeds and simultaneously improves performance. The high compression ratio means the BMW four-cylinder petrol engine is also good at mid-range speeds. This means even power delivery and unparalleled running smoothness over the entire speed range, as well as markedly more efficient fuel consumption and emission values.
