Run-flat tyres on the BMW 1 Series (three-door).
Even after a complete loss of tyre pressure, optional run-flat tyres (standard equipment for the BMW 130i and 123d) retain their shape and remain firmly attached to the rim. Even at higher speeds, the BMW 1 Series remains stable and precisely controllable. The car can be driven for up to 150 km at 80 km/h following loss of tyre pressure - or even longer in the case of a slow puncture. The need for a spare tyre is eliminated.
