A clear view in unclear situations: the Park Distance Control and Rear View Camera in the BMW 1 Series give you a comprehensive view and new perspectives.
The optional Park Distance Control (PDC) allows confident parking even in the tightest spaces. Ultrasonic sensors measure the distance between the car and the obstacle. An acoustic signal warns you of possible dangers and thus reduces the chances of parking damage. In combination with the navigation system, or from the equipment Radio Professional onwards, this information is also shown on the Control Display. A simple colour system shows the distance in green, yellow or red; making it easier to judge how much space you have.
The Rear View camera also provides welcome support when parking. Interactive lane lines in the image inform the driver whether or not the parking space is large enough. The zoom function allows you to adjust the image so that you can attach a trailer to the tow bar without the need for further assistance.
