The diesel engines with common-rail direct injection offer an unachieved ratio of performance and fuel consumption. As a result, the BMW 120d inspires with
135 kW/184 hp at a fuel consumption of 4.5 to 4.3 l/100 km while accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.2 s, with CO2 emissions of 119 to 114 g/km.
BMW xDrive, the intelligent all-wheel drive available as an optional extra, increases driving dynamics and ensures optimal traction on any surface. The power of the BMW 120d xDrive is distributed variably across all four drive wheels. The fully aluminium engine block also reduces the weight and allows the 120d power unit to record the best power-to-weight ratio of its class. And the optional BMW BluePerformance technology means the vehicle meets the EU6 emission standard.
The BMW 125d with its 450 Nm torque is even sportier: it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h is just 6.5 s with a low 4.9 l/100 km average consumption and CO2 values of only 128 g/km. Even more economical are the engines in the BMW 116d and 118d, with outstanding consumption figures of only 4.3 to 4.1 l/100 km and a CO2 value of 114 to 109 g/km, and consumption from 4.4 to 4.1 l/100 km and CO2 emissions from 115 to 109 g/km. The BMW 114d goes even further: it’s capable of 100 km on only 4.3 to 4.1 litres with CO2 emissions from 112 to 109 g/km.
The top performer in terms of efficiency is the BMW 116d EfficientDynamics Edition with 85 kW (116 hp) and 260 Nm of torque with consumption of only 3.8l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 99g/km. All diesel engines in the
BMW 1 Series 3-door meet the EU5 emissions standard.
