The BMW 1 Series interprets the characteristic design of the BMW automobiles in a young and spontaneous manner. Dynamics find its most modern form: authentic, lively and full of energy. Energy that you can sense. Even on the first glance.
Despite the completely new design, the front unmistakeably reveals the face of the BMW 1 Series family, with the kidney grille in dominant upright position, extensive headlights and rounded corners of the windscreen at the intersection with the roof. Distinctive lines and three-dimensional effects characterise the dynamically shaped bonnet. The kidney grille in the centre together with the horizontally sectioned headlights generates a strong presence, which is further reinforced in the xenon version by the innovative, slightly eccentric Corona rings. As a result, even when stationary, the entire vehicle points in only one direction – forwards.
The length of the bonnet, the large wheelbase and slightly sloping roof line confirm the compact, agile impression. Narrow window areas reinforce this effect. Large, inviting rear doors also give an indication of the spacious interior.
