High expectations - low fuel consumption.

The four-cylinder diesel engine in the
BMW 1 Series Coupé 120d and 123d.

Never underestimate the power of diesel. The 123d is the world's first four-cylinder diesel engine with Variable Twin Turbo. In the engine block, now made solely of aluminium, two different-sized turbochargers are deployed sequentially to dispense extra power right across the rev range. Exceptional performance is ensured thanks to third-generation common rail injection. Up to 150 kW/204 hp in the 123d and 130 kW/177 hp in the 120d. And fuel consumption levels remain surprisingly low at about five litres per 100 km.

Fuel consumption / CO2 emissions

Combined fuel consumption: 4.8 to 5.6 l/100 km
Combined CO2 emissions: 128.3 to 148 g/km

Further information about the official fuel consumption and the official specific CO2 emissions for new passenger automobiles can be obtained from "The Passenger Car (Fuel Consumption and CO2 Emissions Information) Regulations", which are available free of charge at all sales outlets and at DAT Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH, Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern, Germany.
