BMW TwinPower Turbo diesel engines.
BMW TwinPower Turbo diesel engines have a lightweight aluminium construction and are fitted with a maintenance-free particle filter. Common rail direct injection is combined with fully variable performance control and innovative turbocharger technology for enhanced efficiency and dynamics.
The result? A new dimension in driving pleasure and efficiency. The
BMW TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder diesel engine in the BMW 318d unleashes 105 kW (143 hp) of power and a maximum torque of 320 Nm. The power unit in the
BMW 320d is even more dynamic, with its two-litre engine generating an impressive 135 kW (184 hp). With up to 380 Nm torque, it accelerates the vehicle from a standing start to 100 km/h in 8.0 seconds and can reach a speed of up to 235 km/h. Fuel consumption is an efficient 4.9 litres per 100 km (xDrive: 5.1 litres), with CO2 emission of 129 g/km (320d xDrive: 134 g/km).
The two-litre BMW TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder diesel engine in the top diesel model, the BMW 325d, produces an even more impressive 160 kW (218 hp). With maximum torque of 450 Nm between 1,500 and 2,000 rpm, the powertrain ensures enormous drive force, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 240 km/h. Thanks to BMW EfficientDynamics measures, the combined fuel consumption is a mere 5.1 litres per 100 km, with CO2 emissions of 134 g/km.
xDrive is expected to be available for the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo and the
BMW 325d from July 2013.
