Available for the first time in the new BMW 3 Series Sedan – in combination with the Comfort Access special accessory – is the contactless opening of the tailgate. This puts paid to the inconvenience of searching for your keys while you struggle with your bags after a strenuous shopping trip. A wave of the foot below the rear bumper activates the opening mechanism of the tailgate, which then unlocks and swings open automatically.

The optionally available folding backrest of the rear seat in the new BMW 3 Series Sedan offers flexible solutions when transporting large or bulky objects. The backrest has a 40:20:40 split, thus allowing for maximum versatility.
