Individual climate control begins even before you start your journey: in the BMW ActiveHybrid 3, the car key is able to remotely active the automatic climate control.

Park air conditioning cools the interior from an extremely high temperature to a low level in just a few minutes, without any need to start the engine or move off beforehand. The electric climate compressor takes care of the cooling function using the energy gained in the high-performance battery – and hence without producing any emissions.

As soon as the vehicle starts up, the temperature is then lowered further to the desired temperature. Park air conditioning in the BMW ActiveHybrid 3 can be activated via the radio control key before you enter the vehicle from a distance of up to 40 m.

Driver and front passenger can adjust the desired temperature and air distribution independently of each other thanks to the two-zone automatic climate control. The settings of the air vents in the instrument panel can be varied from one focused position through to general, draft-free air circulation. The circulation filter, sun and condensation sensors together with residual heat utilisation allow the ideal temperature to be reached quickly.

In addition, the BMW ActiveHybrid 3 also has a climate retention system which is able to maintain the interior temperature for up to 6 minutes with the combustion engine switched off. As a result, the interior does not heat up even in strong sunlight.
