Functional boot concept.
The new BMW 3 Series Sedan was devised from the outset with hybrid technology and thus makes no compromises in terms of size and flexibility of the boot: its lithium-ion high-performance battery has been integrated beneath the floor of the luggage compartment with a space-saving and intelligent design.
Compared with the new BMW 3 Series Sedan using a conventional drive system, the rear section of the boot floor has only been raised by a few centimetres. This permits an almost unaltered, directly accessible boot volume.
The boot also retains its full versatility. Thanks to the optionally available foldable rear seat backrest featuring a 40:20:40 split with through-loading system, you can extend the boot and create space to transport large items in no time at all. As a result, you can easily stow your luggage for the next holiday – such as a ski bag – while at the same time enjoying the same full seating comfort as in the new BMW 3 Series with a conventional drive system.
