During electric driving, the combustion engine of the BMW ActiveHybrid 3 is switched off, which enables locally emission-free driving and means that no energy is consumed when the vehicle is stationary.
At the same time, the BMW ActiveHybrid 3 is the best example that electric driving can also be individual and versatile. Depending on whether you wish to direct your driving style towards maximum efficiency, sporting dynamics or special comfort, the Driving Experience Control helps you to switch between the ECO PRO mode, SPORT mode and COMFORT mode.

The ECO PRO Mode is geared towards maximum efficiency: accelerator pedal and gearbox parameters are optimised, the heating/climate control strategy and other convenience functions are adapted intelligently, and tips are provided on how to drive even more efficiently. In addition, with ECO PRO Mode activated it is possible to glide at up to 160 km/h and save even more fuel. During electric driving in SPORT Mode, the combustion engine is only switched off at very low speeds, which enables an especially sporty style of driving with high revs and additional power from the electric boost function. COMFORT Mode allows electric driving without any restriction on convenience functions such as the heating for the exterior mirrors.
