The BMW TwinPower inline 6-cylinder petrol engine with a capacity of 3.0 litres in the BMW 435i boasts especially impressive performance values: 225 kW (306 hp), a maximum torque of 400 Nm and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.6 s (Steptronic transmission: 5.5 s; xDrive: 5.6 s; xDrive Steptronic transmission: 5.5 s). The maximum speed is 250 km/h (limited). Average fuel consumption remains modest at only 8.4 to 8.1 l per 100 km (Steptronic transmission: 7.7 to 7.5 l per
100 km; xDrive: 8.7 to 8.5 l/100 km; xDrive Steptronic transmission: 8.1 to
7.9 l/100 km), enabling low CO2 emissions of 195 to 190 g/km (Steptronic transmission: 180 to 176 g/km; xDrive: 204 to 199 g/km; xDrive Steptronic xDrive: 204 to 199 g/km; xDrive Steptronic transmission: 189 to 184 g/km).
The BMW TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder petrol engine in the BMW 428i also sets standards in efficiency: while its 180 kW (245 hp) accelerate it to a speed of
100 km/h in 6.4 s (Steptronic transmission: 6.4 s; xDrive: 6.5 s), the engine manages on only 7.0 to 6.8 l of fuel over 100 kilometres (Steptronic transmission: 6.7 to 6.6 l; xDrive: 7.2 to 7.0 l) and at the same time achieves a CO2 value of 163 to 159 g/km (Steptronic transmission: 157 to 154 g/km; xDrive: 167 to 163 g/km).
