The BMW TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder diesel engine in the BMW 420d unleashes a powerful 135 kW (184 hp). With up to 380 Nm of torque, the vehicle accelerates to 100 km/h from a standing start in 8,2 seconds (automatic transmission: 8,2 s) and reaches a top speed of 235 km/h (automatic transmission: 228 km/h). At the same time, the efficient average fuel consumption is only 5,3 to 5,1 l (automatic transmission: 5,0 to 4,8 l) over 100 km with CO2 emissions of 138 to 133 g/km (automatic transmission: 131 to 127 g/km).
