The ergonomic concept of the BMW ActiveHybrid 5 is based entirely on the driver orientation typical for BMW. The centre console is slightly inclined toward the driver's cockpit. The controls of the comfort functions are located to the right of the steering wheel and can therefore be optimally operated by the driver and front passenger. Dynamic driving functions, such as Active Cruise Control, can be operated with the driver's left hand. Every control and display is ideally ergonomically positioned where the driver intuitively expects it to be. Look to the right and your eyes automatically fall on the Control Display. Integrated in the outside mirror is the Lane Departure Warning, which signals with a flashing light when necessary. The BMW Head-Up Display is positioned centrally in front of the driver. It projects the most important driving information, such as instructions from the navigation system, directly into the driver's field of view.
