Active Cruise Control.
Relax in every driving situation: Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go and Collision Warning automatically adapts your speed according to the traffic situation and to your desired speed. It monitors the distance between you and the vehicle ahead and makes sure it remains constant.
A radar sensor with a range of 200 metres constantly measures the distance between you and the vehicles ahead and recognises which lane these vehicles are driving in.
In a tailback, the system brakes, if necessary, until the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé comes to a standstill. If the journey continues immediately, the vehicle restarts automatically. If the vehicle is stationary for longer, pressing the accelerator or pushing a button on the steering wheel is all it takes to pull away and accelerate up to your set cruise speed again. In critical situations, the optical and acoustic collision warning alerts drivers to the hazard even when Cruise Control is deactivated, and gives them the opportunity to avoid an accident by braking or taking evasive action. This makes journeys in the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé safer and more comfortable.
