The new BMW 640d inspires heart and mind: with strong performance, rapid power build-up and low consumption. The innovative BMW TwinPower Turbo technology combines common-rail direct injection and multistage turbocharging with variable turbine geometry.
This significantly reduces fuel consumption while, at the same time, greatly increasing power. A high torque of 630 Nm is available even in the low rev range between 1,500 rpm and 2,500 rpm. The extremely smooth straight six-cylinder engine with its spontaneous response produces 230 kW (313 hp), thus providing an impressive display of thrust. As a result, the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé accelerates to 100 km/h from a standing start in only 5.4 seconds and consumes an average of only 5.7 to 5.5 litres per 100 kilometres, depending on the selected wheel and tyre size.
