Red lights, traffic jams, road works – in everyday driving situations there are countless instances where the engine is idling, unnecessarily burning fuel. This is prevented by the Auto Start Stop function.
The Auto Start Stop function switches off the engine when the
BMW 6 Series Coupé is not moving. The intelligent electronics system has already calculated and checked the charge level of battery and whether other systems – such as the air conditioning or rear windscreen heating – require more energy. Releasing the brake pedal starts up the motor almost instantly and the journey can continue.
The result: no unnecessary fuel consumption and no unnecessary emissions.
