The BMW 745d is powered by the remarkable new V8 diesel power unit. The V8 reaches its maximum torque output of 750 Nm at just 1,900 rpm; maximum power (242 kW / 330 hp) at 3,800 rpm. With its aluminium crankcase, the turbo powerplant is thirty kilograms lighter than its predecessor. Innovative piezo fuel injection technology delivers improved responsiveness plus reduced consumption, and a particle filter is fitted as standard.
