BMW Assist turns your BMW into your personal travel manager. Its automatic emergency and breakdown assistance with vehicle location feature increases passenger safety. En route, current traffic conditions are monitored and an alternative route is recommended if congestion threatens. BMW Assist also provides useful information, for example, about hotels and restaurants, and addresses can be transferred directly to the navigation system.

BMW Online.

The BMW Online internet portal provides individually configured information such as news and business updates. From available parking spaces to the address of the nearest chemist or cinema, BMW Online provides invaluable assistance throughout your journey. With its address book, e-mail and information applications, BMW Online enables you to transform your BMW into a mobile office.

Navigation ergonomics of the highest quality: the optional BMW Professional navigation system is satellite supported and offers Voice Control for even greater ease of use. Directions are given as clear arrows or maps on the large 8.8-inch colour monitor and as easy-to-follow spoken instructions over the sound system. Digital road maps on DVD ensure the system always has the most up-to-date navigation data, leading you quickly and comfortably to your goal.

Preparation for mobile phone with Bluetooth

The optional Bluetooth interface provides a wireless connection between the vehicle and Bluetooth-compatible mobile phones. The phones are operated via the hands-free kit, multifunction steering wheel, iDrive Controller or Voice Control depending on the equipment options of the individual vehicle. There is a snap-in-adapter available for the Apple iPhone. Your local BMW dealer will be happy to inform you about which mobile phone devices (and software versions) are compatible with the optional Bluetooth interface.

The optional Professional carphone keeps you in touch with the outside world when at the wheel of your BMW 7 Series. Bluetooth technology connects the cordless handset to the base, the hands-free function enhances comfort and ease of use, and the aerial guarantees optimum reception. A second cordless handset and even a separate telephone are available for rear-seat passengers: BMW sees to it that sitting in the second row doesn't mean you have to travel second class.

Road networks are constantly changing: digital road maps for BMW navigation systems keep you informed of these changes and are available on CD or DVD twice a year.
