Petrol engines.
From silky-smooth six-cylinder drive trains via a high-torque V8 engine to the V12 power unit – state-of-the-art BMW TwinPower Turbo technology ensures a befitting level of thrust, maximum refinement and commendable efficiency.
Comfortable smoothness and 190 kW (258 hp) with a fuel consumption of 8.6 l l/km are the characteristics of the straight six-cylinder petrol engine in the BMW 730i/Li. The BMW 740i/Li with 235 kW (320 hp) also has considerable reserves of power, resulting from the intelligent combination of two turbochargers with double-Vanos and High Precision Injection. Its CO2 emission figures have been reduced by 21 per cent to only 184 g/km, making it one of the most efficient in its class.
The BMW TwinPower Turbo eight-cylinder comes up with a rich power bonus of 10 per cent taking it to 330 kW (450 hp). Equipped with two turbochargers, double-Vanos, variable valve control (Valvetronic) and High Precision Injection, the BMW 750i/Li accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4.8 seconds. Equally phenomenal is the reduction of its CO2 emissions by a quarter to 199 g/km. The reference mark in the top performance class continues to be set by the BMW TwinPower Turbo twelve-cylinder petrol engine in the BMW 760i/Li, which combines two turbochargers with double-Vanos and High Precision Injection and complies with the EU5 emissions regulations as standard.
