BMW xDrive.
On snow and ice or poor roads, traction is not a luxury but an essential requirement for safe and comfortable travel. BMW xDrive provides maximum traction, tracking stability and driving safety on any surface and in any weather.
Unlike other all-wheel drive systems, BMW xDrive also guarantees close contract with the road on slippery surfaces – with the special driving sensation of the rear-wheel drive. At lightning speed, the intelligent all-wheel drive system by BMW channels the propulsive force to the wheels with the best traction.
Under normal circumstances, the drive force is distributed in a 40:60 ratio between front and rear axles. When the xDrive sensors detect a loss of traction, the power distribution is flexibly redistributed to match the road conditions, so that the wheels with the most traction receive the optimum drive force. The result: maximum tracking accuracy and safe driving characteristics in any situation.
BMW xDrive is optionally available for the BMW 750i/Li, BMW 730d und BMW 740d; and a standard-feature in the BMW 750d xDrive.
