Being ideally prepared means that you also react confidently in hazardous situations. With a perfectly coordinated system of chassis, engine management, brakes, tyres and state-of-the-art measuring technology, the BMW ActiveHybrid 7 also masters extreme situations with self-assurance.
Above a speed of 18 km/h, the system automatically tightens the seat belt slightly. Sensors permanently monitor the driving situation. If active safety detects the threat of a collision via the front camera or front radar, by all-out braking or severe understeering or oversteering, the system reacts at lightning speed: it tightens the seat belts on the front seats, optimises their seating position for a crash, closes side windows and sunroof.
To prevent hazards from arising in the first place, the attentiveness assistant monitors driving behaviour for symptoms of fatigue. The systems analyses the driver’s steering behaviour and reacts to any irregularities: by recommending a break in the Control Display.
