The BMW ActiveHybrid 7 redefines safety through intelligent connectivity. In the Driving Assistant Plus, the combination of established camera and radar technology leads to hitherto unachieved levels of precision in the registration and evaluation of traffic situations. As a stand-alone system, Collision Warning alerts drivers of insufficient distance between the traffic ahead or of stationary obstacles – and triggers braking operations if required. In combination with BMW Night Vision, it gives rise to a new intelligent safety concept. BMW Night Vision detects pedestrians and illuminates them with the Dynamic light spot. If the risk of an accident increases further, the Collision Warning feature of the Driving Assistant initiates braking if this option has been activated.

Similarly forward-thinking is the Driving Assistant Plus including Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function and Emergency Braking Assistant, which masterfully reduces the burden on the driver in extremely unclear traffic situations – and in ECO PRO Mode actively reduces fuel consumption. Distance Info in the BMW Head-Up Display warns if the gap between the vehicle ahead falls below the legal minimum, while Speed Limit Info, including No Passing Info, shows the speed restriction that currently applies for the time and weather conditions.
