On average, at increased performance levels, the BMW M5 consumes 9.9 litres per 100 km, which is over 30 percent less than its predecessors. This boost in efficiency is also due to the intelligent technologies Valvetronic and High Precision Injection. The valve control Valvetronic varies the hub of the inlet valve allowing the engine to ‘breath’ more freely and perform better with less consumption. In High Precision Injection process, petrol is combusted with an excess of oxygen, which is both precise and economical.
