Active M Differential.
The Active M Differential was developed in order to further optimise the superior properties of the rear-wheel drive. The result is outstanding agility and enhanced traction – even on snow and ice.
Power is nothing without control. Even during lateral acceleration and in handling, the M makes a big difference. On slippery surfaces or when accelerating out of fast bends: the Active M Differential even neutralises the finest variations in torque between the drive wheels with a corresponding locking action. Proactively, without a tendency to understeer. The result of intelligently linking M Technology tested in motor racing and Dynamic Stability Control is smooth handling extending into the outermost limits – the BMW M6 Convertible remains under maximum control even at high speeds or in severe road conditions during winter.
