Auto Start Stop function.
Intelligent energy management: if no power is called for – such as when the engine is idling at a red light – the Auto Start Stop function switches off the engine automatically. When the driver’s foot leaves the brake pedal, the engine starts up reliably, with full power immediately available.
In addition to smoothly managing the running of the engine, the intelligent system of the Auto Start Stop function provides even more: in order to actively avoid energy bottlenecks on board, it permanently monitors the battery status and any high-energy systems in operation such as the air conditioning. If extra energy is required for cooling on extremely hot days, the engine does of course continue running – after all, the driver’s safety and comfort always have utmost priority.
