Nobody wants to think about accidents. But if one should happen, you can rely on your BMW. Crash sensors automatically trigger an emergency call via an accident-proof telephone unit permanently installed in the vehicle, which immediately reaches the BMW Call Centre – independently of your mobile phone. A call-centre agent then establishes contact directly and enquires about the condition of the occupants. The same connection also transfers the precise position of the vehicle to the nearest metre and other data relevant for the rescue services, such as risk of injury, number of passengers as well as model and colour of the vehicle. This data is used at once to alert and inform the nearest emergency control centre – especially important when time is of the essence. As a result, the rescue services are able to prepare the required medical care for those involved in the accident in advance. Assistance is also available from afar: when you are travelling abroad, you will be connected with the BMW Call Centre of your home country. There you will receive bilingual support – both in your own language and that of the country where you are travelling.
