BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol engines.
The BMW X5 xDrive50i with V8 engine offers power and sophistication, while the BMW X5 xDrive35i with straight 6-cylinder engine lets its smooth efficiency speak for itself. The optimised petrol engines for the BMW X5 combine maximum driving pleasure with outstanding fuel economy.
Top of the range is the BMW TwinPower Turbo straight 8-cylinder petrol engine with two parallel turbochargers with Valvetronic, double-VANOS and petrol direct injection. It delivers maximum torque of 650 Nm across a rev range from 2,000 to 4,500 1/min. The engine produces 330 kW (450 hp) to achieve impressive acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.0 seconds. And thanks to High Precision Injection (HPI), maximum efficiency is extracted due to precisely-measured doses of fuel being injected into the combustion chamber, which results in fuel consumption from 10.5 to 10.4 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 244 to 242 g/km.
The BMW TwinPower Turbo straight 6-cylinder petrol engine in the BMW X5 xDrive35i also combines a Twin Scroll turbocharger with Valvetronic, double-VANOS and petrol direct injection. This intelligent innovation package reduces CO2 emissions to 199 to 197 g/km with a fuel consumption of 8.5 l/100 km while, at the same time, significantly improving performance: 225 kW (306 hp), maximum torque of 400 Nm and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds.
The BMW X5 xDrive35i is expected to be available from December 2013.
