More comfort when parking and more agility on winding roads – the optional Active Steering automatically adjusts the effect of the steering angle to your driving speed and offers you ideal assistance in all driving situations.
With the optional Active Steering for the BMW X6, your steering wheel offers proactive assistance on every bend and reacts flexibly to the current driving situation. At low speeds, such as in the town or when parking, steering becomes more direct. Turing the steering wheel ever so slightly is enough to carry out the tightest manoeuvres and park more easily.
At high speeds, the required angle increases and the steering becomes more indirect. Now you can control the wheels more precisely with more turns of the steering wheel, and driving stability improves noticeably. The result is improved roadholding and a confident steering sensation even at high speeds.
If the BMW X6 starts rolling when cornering or braking, Active Steering automatically balances this out by selective counter-steering and thus actively contributes to your driving safety.
Active Steering is not available for the BMW X6 M50d.
