Airbags are another aspect of the BMW X3's comprehensive safety programme. The protection afforded by driver and front passenger airbags is augmented by side airbags for those in the front. These side airbags are available as an optional extra for the rear, while head airbags are standard on all seats. The Impact Depending System inflates only the appropriate airbags to the correct degree for maximum safety.
