BMW Assist.

BMW Assist puts you in control of your travel plans. Up-to-date traffic information, congestion reports and alternative route suggestions can be called up at the press of a button as well as information about hotels, restaurants and other useful addresses which can be entered directly in the navigation system. To enhance your safety, there is a manual and automatic emergency call feature and breakdown assistance request which includes vehicle location data. The Traffic Info Plus (V-Info+) and "My Info" services allow short messages and address information to be sent to your BMW, and a personal information service is also available around the clock free of charge.

BMW Online.

BMW Online is an internet-based feature, offering individually-tailored information services including stock exchange and parking information as well as weather forecasts. Access useful travel information directly from your BMW: from the locations of available parking spaces to the address of the nearest cinema or chemist. With its address book feature and e-mail function, BMW Online transforms your BMW X5 into a mobile office. (Only available with the optional navigation system Professional and the mobile phone preparation with Bluetooth interface). And with the on-board Google Local Search, you can call up all the information you require directly from your vehicle using the Google Maps database.

Internet access.

Thanks to BMW ConnectedDrive, the internet can be used freely for the first time in an automobile. You can enter the address of any website you require or open a site directly using one of the favourite buttons. The iDrive Controller in the central console functions in the same way as a standard computer mouse.

Navigation system Professional
for the BMW X5.

Convenience plus speed: the optional navigation system Professional with integrated Bluetooth mobile phone preparation provides easy-to-follow directions, either as voice instruction or as arrows, and/or a route map on the high-resolution 16:9 colour screen. The screen, which also functions as a television, can be set to split-screen mode, so that the route map is displayed on one side and the arrow direction on the other. For increased safety, the optional Voice Control allows you to specify new destinations without having to remove your hands from the steering wheel. The integrated hard drive stores all your maps, addresses, contacts and approximately 100 music CDs as MP3 files.

Bluetooth interface in the BMW X5.

The optional Bluetooth interface provides a wireless connection between the vehicle and Bluetooth-compatible mobile phones. The phones are operated via the hands-free kit, multifunction steering wheel, iDrive Controller or Voice Control depending on the equipment options of the individual vehicle. There is a snap-in-adapter available for the Apple iPhone. Your local BMW dealer will be happy to inform you about which mobile phone devices (and software versions) are compatible with the optional Bluetooth interface.

The digital road maps update for the BMW X5.

Putting current traffic and tourist information at your fingertips: digital road maps for BMW navigation systems are available on CD or DVD and are updated twice yearly. With up-to-date map material, you will always find the best route to your destination.
