The fully-fledged rear entertainment system consists of two portable monitors and two holders that fasten to the headrest support bars. The tablet plays video DVDs, audio CDs as well as data CDs and DVDs and includes a USB port and a slot for SD/MMC/MS memory cards. The built-in speakers can be switched off when headphones are used. The ALPINE HiFi system offers markedly improved audio performance and ensures detailed sound characteristics with crystal-clear high tones and powerful bass. The highly efficient digital four-channel amplifier has 320 W at its disposal. The ALPINE HiFi system includes modified mid-range speakers and two powerful tweeters in the upper front doors. Two channels control the high-quality, aluminium-lined mid-range speakers and tweeters – the other two channels control the powerful bass speakers underneath the front seats. Available for BMW 1 Series and BMW 3 Series.

The TV function brings analogue and digital TV channels (DVB-T) directly onto the Control Display of your BMW: you can activate it via the Control Display or with the iDrive controller when the vehicle is stationary. Thanks to the DVB-T set top box and the Advanced DVD system, rear passengers can also enjoy digital television programmes during the journey, using an infrared remote control navigate.
