With BMW ConnectedDrive drivers have remote access to their vehicle via the BMW Call Centre or the My BMW Remote App.

Remote Services are very useful, e.g. when you’re not sure whether you locked the car after getting out. The My BMW Remote App lets you lock or unlock your BMW by smartphone from wherever you happen to be.

In the "Climate" menu you can turn on the auxiliary heating* or auxiliary ventilation**. The remote function also allows drivers to sound the horn and flash the lights in order to find the vehicle in a large car park. In addition, the Vehicle Finder shows the car’s current position on a map on a smartphone.

Instead of using the My BMW Remote App drivers can call the BMW Call Centre. After callers have identified themselves as the owner, the Call Centre agent activates the Remote Services and unlocks or locks the vehicle.

• Before you can use Remote Services, they must be activated in the BMW ConnectedDrive customer portal (incl. security question for use via the Call Centre)
• Before you can use the My BMW Remote App, you first have to download it on the App Store or on Google Play™

* This requires the optional equipment item auxiliary heating.
** Depending on the series and model, some vehicles require additional optional equipment for automatic air conditioning in order to operate the “Climate-auxiliary ventilation” function.
