DESIGN.

EXTERIOR DESIGN.

Undeniable proof that functionality and aesthetics can be combined perfectly: The exterior of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer adds unprecedented dynamics to this vehicle segment. When viewed from the front, it’s the contoured apron, low windscreen and high bonnet that immediately catch the eye. In profile, striking lines create a dynamic impression that accelerates the vehicle even when it’s standing still. Furthermore, the high roof line and large doors indicate the ease of access to all seats. The refined rear design with large L-shaped lights and wide wheel arches give the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer a sporty air, despite its height. At the same time, the large tailgate with a low loading sill and wide opening provides convenient access to the luggage compartment.

INTERIOR DESIGN.

No matter how heavy the load – the roomy interior of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is always dominated by a feeling of lightness. Top-quality materials and interior trims in subtle colours combine with large windows and the optional panorama glass roof to create a light-filled atmosphere. This feeling extends to the instrument panel, which appears to be floating independently and adds a modern, aesthetic touch to the whole interior. The elevated seat position guarantees an optimum all-round view. There’s plenty of room for functionality in the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer. The striking centre console, the inside of the doors and the optional central armrest offer numerous storage possibilities, such as a lockable compartment for smartphones or glasses as well as stowage space for cups and large bottles. The optional foldable passenger seat increases the flexibility factor. The almost entirely flat floor in the luggage compartment guarantees easy loading and the rear seat bench, which accommodates three people, is adjustable lengthways (optional) and can be folded down in a 40:20:40 split, provides ideal variability for passengers and luggage alike.

PANORAMA GLASS ROOF.

The Panorama glass roof opens up captivating new perspectives. The light-flooded atmosphere emphasises the vehicle's very special interior ambience. If the sunlight is too bright, the roller sunblind can be simply and smoothly closed. With slide and lift functions, the Panorama glass roof provides a variety of options for great ventilation. If the glass roof is put into venting position, the sunblind is automatically rolled back to allow the desired airflow. And the integrated wind deflector automatically springs into action to minimise turbulence when driving with the roof open.

COMFORT & VERSATILITY.

CONTACTLESS OPENING OF THE TAILGATE.

When someone wants to open the luggage compartment after a shopping spree, it's usually necessary to awkwardly search for the key in their bags while standing in front of the car with arms full. In such situations, the innovative comfort access system comes to the rescue, allowing the contactless opening of the tailgate: A quick, targeted wave of the foot under the rear bumper causes a sensor to initiate the opening process. They just need to be carrying the car key with them. The tailgate then unlocks and swings open on its own. Sensors installed at different heights in the rear bumper detect the wave of the foot and open the luggage compartment. This innovative feature from BMW ConnectedDrive makes opening and loading the luggage compartment more convenient.

ELEVATED SEAT POSITION.

The elevated seat position has several advantages. It permits a significantly better view in all directions and for all passengers, which improves safety through better visibility and awareness. The elevated seat position also makes getting into and out of the car more comfortable for all passengers. It also impacts the appearance of the interior – passengers gain a better sense of the car's height and spaciousness.

LOADING IN COMFORT.

To get your holiday off to a good start, you need to pack properly. And with the flexibility of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, a relaxing time is assured before you even hit the road. With its large doors, wide-opening tailgate, optional foldable passenger seat, adjustable rear seat bench and a luggage compartment floor that creates space seemingly out of nowhere, you can store your luggage, sports equipment and travel utensils in the spacious interior with no hassle at all.

DRIVING DYNAMICS & EFFICIENCY.

BMW TWINPOWER TURBO TECHNOLOGY.

Thanks to BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, the innovative BMW petrol and diesel engines facilitate markedly more agile power delivery and outstanding responsiveness even at low rpms, all while being exceptionally fuel efficient and low in emissions. The newest generation of engines from the EfficientDynamics family combine cutting-edge fuel-injection technologies and completely variable power distribution with innovative turbocharger technology to enhance efficiency and dynamics.

BMW xDRIVE.

The intelligent BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system adapts perfectly to even the most challenging road surface conditions, ensuring optimal traction at all times. xDrive and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) ensure that the BMW remains safe and stable. Controlled via the DSC sensor system, xDrive flexibly and quickly distributes drive power between the axles in order to prevent oversteer or understeer on bends, thereby ensuring outstanding directional stability. Moreover, it guarantees a rapid, safe acceleration even on slippery or steep stretches. In critical road conditions, the DSC doesn't need to intervene as much. Thus, BMW xDrive combines all the advantages of an all-wheel drive system – traction, directional stability and driving safety – with classic BMW agility.

ECO PRO MODE.

The ECO PRO mode helps drivers reduce their fuel consumption by up to 20 percent, depending on their driving style – according to an internal BMW fuel consumption study. The coasting function (only with 8-speed Steptronic transmission) and ECO PRO Route (only with Navigation system Plus) offer an increased savings potential.

BMW iPERFORMANCE.

With its combination of BMW eDrive and a BMW TwinPower Turbo engine, the BMW 225xe iPerformance Active Tourer offers both an electric driving experience and unlimited mobility. The intelligent interplay between both drive systems gives rise to the electrical xDrive. This system is regulated automatically and offers the best-possible traction and agility in every situation – with optimised consumption and CO2 emissions of 2.1 to 2.0 l/100 km and 49 to 46 g/km respectively.
