DRIVE FURTHER, FASTER. WITH POWER AND DRIVE.Range, charging and & efficiency of the new BMW i3.

The BMW i3 has everything you need to combat the challenges of modern mobility – and to outmatch them in silence. It charges its high-voltage battery at a quick-charging DC station in just 39 minutes in order to achieve the daily use range of up to 200 km. Its intelligent energy management makes it flexible and highly efficient, both in city traffic and on longer trips.

CHARGE FAST AND EASY, EVERYWHERE.

Never before was charging this simple: The intelligent charging options of the BMW i3 allow flexibility and convenience at the highest level. With digital services, you can plan the charging process more clearly than ever before – regardless of whether you're at home or out and about.

  • Home charging

If energy reserves of your BMW i3 are running low, you can charge quickly and conveniently with the BMW i Wallbox, the BMW i Wallbox Plus and the BMW i Wallbox Connect. Depending on the version you can charge your BMW i3 in less than three hours up to 80% of the charging capacity. This is possible due to the three-phase charging power of the new BMW i Wallbox of up to 22 kW for the BMW i3. Our installation service would be happy to install the wallboxes for you.
In addition, you have the option to use green energy and solar energy you have generated yourself, for quick charging and even greater sustainability.

  • BMW Digital Charging Service

Charging can be this convenient and customised: With the BMW Digital Charging Service (DCS), you can automatically charge at the most cost-effective times based on your energy rates. This saves electricity and allows you to use renewable energies in a targeted way. Attached to the BMW i Wallbox, the DCS controls the charging process independently and regulates the charging power. Even more sustainably, you can charge up with energy you've produced from your own solar panels with the BMW i Wallbox Connect. This will only charge your vehicle when there's enough sunshine to do so. With BMW Connected, DCS is very easy to operate using your mobile end device.

  • Public charging

There are many reasons for you to be out and about with your BMW i3 – and just as many opportunities to charge it while you are. First, the practicalities: With the BMW i3, you can use public charging stations with either alternating current (AC) or with direct current (DC). This will make you more flexible and will allow you to charge the vehicle as quickly as possible. This is because at a public DC charging station, the energy is transferred directly into the high-voltage storage in the vehicle battery at a constant current flow rate. This allows the BMW i3 to be charged up to 80% in 39 minutes. If no DC station is available, you can also charge the BMW i3 up to 80% capacity in under three hours at an AC charging station. Public AC charging stations are particularly well-suited for efficient charging overnight or during long periods of the vehicle being parked.

These values are provisional figures and have not yet been confirmed.

The figures for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and power consumption depend on the wheel and tyre sizes selected. Consumption data is determined in accordance to the ECE driving cycle.

The driving range depends on a variety of factors, especially: personal driving behaviour, selected route, weather conditions, usage of heating/cooling and preconditioning.

Further information about the official fuel consumption and the official specific CO2 emissions for new passenger automobiles can be found in the 'New Passenger Vehicle Fuel Consumption and CO2 Emission Guidelines', which are available free of charge at all sales outlets and from DAT Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH, Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern, Germany.
