The design and idea behind the first-ever BMW M2 Coupé stem from the historical roots of BMW M GmbH. The vehicle combines top sporting prowess and classic rear-wheel drive with the precision and agility of a modern M automobile. Characteristic front and rear aprons optimise air flow and aerodynamics. The sportily attuned suspension and a powerful M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder petrol engine ensure breathtaking performance.

A compact vehicle that’s perfect for rapid sprints and racy cornering – the BMW M2 Coupé demonstrates immense power, agility and precision right down to the last detail. Large air inlets in the front apron supply the high-performance M powerplant with the necessary cooling air. The bonnet is the starting point of the athletic coupé line that exudes unadulterated dynamics and looks particularly muscular when viewed from the side. The Air Curtain and M rear spoiler optimise the outstanding aerodynamics. The classic M kidney grille with double slats and M gill elements add an even sportier touch to the BMW M2 Coupé. The impressive lighting power of the standard full LED headlights guarantees a sovereign appearance during daytime and a perfectly illuminated road surface by night.

The precise Lightweight rear axle and extra-wide tyres ensure a broad track, thus enhancing the vehicle’s stance. The progressive design of the full LED rear lights strengthen the resolute character of the rear. A diffuser insert in the rear apron with two integrated twin tailpipe finishers rounds of the dynamic appearance.

The interior of the BMW M2 Coupé greets the pilot and front passenger with sport seats in Leather ‘Dakota’ Black. All seats have the embossed M logo under the headrests as well as contrast stitching in Polar Blue. The elegant matt instrument cluster in Black Panel technology creates a particularly intuitive impression: as soon as the ignition key is turned, all the relevant displays appear.

Interior trim strips made from open-pore carbon, the M leather steering wheel and the two circular dials with red needles underscore the sporty nature of the vehicle. Numerous applications, such as the BMW Individual headliner in Anthracite, or the optional M seat belts with finely woven highlights in M colours* further enhance the striking appearance. *Presumably available from Q4/2017

BMW M stands for dynamics, innovative technologies and decades of motorsport experience. BMW M Performance Accessories transfer this know-how directly from the racetrack to the street: With retrofit components from the Aerodynamics, Drive Train and Cockpit categories, you can add even more uncompromising sportiness to your BMW M2 Coupé.

Shift gears without losing power, using the clutch or slowing down: the 7-speed M double-clutch transmission with Drivelogic. Gears can be changed automatically or manually using the gearshift paddles on the steering wheel, or the gear lever. Launch Control guarantees maximum acceleration from a standing start.

The Active M Differential variably distributes the drive torque between the two rear wheels to optimise traction and driving stability during dynamic lane changing or accelerating out of curves, when making curves at high speeds or on roads with uneven surfaces, including on snow, gravel and ice. It even provides precise handling during extreme lateral acceleration. The constant, smooth adjustment of the differential lock harmonises the vehicle's driving performance, improving control in extreme driving situations.

Traction is optimised with the help of an electronically operated device that reduces the difference in revolution speed between the rear wheels. The system, which was developed for motor sports, is connected to the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) via an electronic control unit. It proactively provides the perfect use of locking action between 0 and 100 percent, neutralising even the finest differences in torque between the rear wheels – without the tendency to understeer. The Active M Differential provides optimal grip as well as great directional stability and perfect handling, and it converts virtually all of the engine's drive power into acceleration.

Get more out of every litre of fuel with BMW EfficientDynamics: better performance, greater efficiency and a heightened driving experience. Technical innovations that lower fuel consumption while simultaneously increasing driving pleasure mean that pure dynamics come with every BMW.

With the BMW M laptimer app, driving data from the racetrack can be accurately recorded, bend by bend, and then analysed with the aim of improving driving performance. The app uses BMW sensors to collect detailed data from the vehicle and shows selected results in the Control Display.
While it is recording, the BMW M laptimer app shows the GPS position, speed, forward acceleration, lateral acceleration (G-force), lap times and acceleration up to a certain speed (e.g. from 0 to 100 km/h). Depending on the vehicle equipment and model year, factors measured may also include the accelerator position, steering angle, deceleration, rpms and gear, as well as fuel consumption.
The recorded information can be shared as a snapshot on social media while the data saved can be sent via email.

Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI) collects current traffic information about motorways, main and country roads and the most important urban routes. It relays information about delays nearly instantly. The best alternative routes are suggested accordingly. On-Street Parking Information is included for the efficient search for parking space.

Thanks to the use of various materials, M compound brakes achieve outstanding deceleration values and are extremely stable and highly durable. They also weigh less, which has a positive impact on agility, dynamics and acceleration. The Blue metallic brake callipers with the M designation are the hallmark of these high-performance M specific brakes.

The figures for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and power consumption depend on the wheel and tyre sizes selected. Consumtion data is determined in accordance to the ECE driving cycle.
The driving range depends on a variety of factors, especially: personal driving behaviour, selected route, weather conditions, usage of heating/cooling and preconditioning.
Further information about the official fuel consumption and the official specific CO2 emissions for new passenger automobiles can be found in the 'New Passenger Vehicle Fuel Consumption and CO2 Emission Guidelines', which are available free of charge at all sales outlets and from DAT Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH, Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern, Germany.
