The BMW X1 is the perfect vehicle for those who want to interpret driving pleasure in line with their own needs and wants. Its SAV proportions demonstrate impressive aplomb, its interior enormous flexibility. Through the BMW xLine and the BMW Sport Line it offers two design worlds that allow you to set particular accents in the exterior and interior. Thanks to a combination of BMW EfficientDynamics measures and efficient BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol and diesel engines, the BMW X1 boasts impressively low consumption and emission values in all engine versions.

DESIGN.

EXTERIOR DESIGN.

Its mere appearance awakens the spirit of discovery: This is where the stylistic features of an SAV concept meet the dynamics and athleticism of an urban lifestyle. With its high roof line, the body creates an especially generous sensation of spaciousness in the interior. Optional xLine extras in satinised Aluminium on the body reinforce the athletic look and the visual association with the X family. They also give the front and rear their distinctive appearance. These characteristic features, which are also available in numerous exclusive paint finishes, additionally afford protection against chip damage during off-road excursions. Aerodynamic excellence and the accompanying reduction in fuel consumption are guaranteed by details such as the side Air blades on the tailgate and the Air Curtain integrated into the air inlets at the front.

LED LIGHT DESIGN.

You can recognise the BMW X1 even when it is completely dark: Its unmistakable face with six eyes clearly identifies it as a member of the X family. And during the day too, the BMW X1 is clearly visible, thanks to its standard-feature LED daytime running lights. If required, the extended functions of the LED headlights with cornering lights offer a bright and efficient Bi-LED light for low beam and high beam. The cornering lights in LED technology allow an adaptive beam distribution with increased illumination of the side of the road in urban traffic. At the same time, LEDs use up to 50% less energy than conventional bulbs – with a significantly higher lifetime and enhanced illumination range.

INTERIOR DESIGN.

The BMW X1 surprises with the familiar. This is made possible by the customary driver-orientated cockpit layout with its extremely innovative and sophisticated design elements. The sense of touch plays a key role here: Exceptionally fine materials and top-class finishing impress from the very first contact. Ambient light that is perfectly adapted to the interior as well as a selection of materials such as leather, fine woods and aluminium impress with their distinct quality. And even attention to the practical details is clearly apparent in the BMW X1: The generously designed centre console with closing roller covers cup holders and additional storage spaces offer freedom and underline the versatility of the interior. Technical highlights such as the optional Navigation system Professional with iDrive Touch Controller are positioned intuitively around the driver’s seat. As a result, you feel at home in the BMW X1 before the very first journey.

COMFORT & FUNCTIONALITY.

ELEVATED SEATING POSITION FOR THE DRIVER.

The elevated seating position in the BMW X1 offers you a number of benefits. The most obvious is that driver and passengers enjoy an outstanding all-round view, which simultaneously brings added safety in road traffic. An additional benefit is that entering and leaving the BMW X1 become substantially more convenient for all passengers. Not least, this seating position also allows you to appreciate the particularly generous proportions of the interior: In combination with large window surfaces and the optional Panorama glass roof, the elevated view creates a pleasantly generous sense of spaciousness.

SPACIOUSNESS.

The BMW X1 impresses in everyday urban life with its compact exterior dimensions. Concealed behind them is far more than you might possibly imagine. Due to the high roof line, its typical SAV body shape makes the interior feel especially spacious and inviting. Another factor for this roomy feeling is the extremely clear view from the elevated seating position and the large window surfaces all round. Yet this impression of the BMW X1 is not purely subjective: 56 cm of leg room in the rear offer a comfortable seat on long journeys even for tall passengers.

CONTACTLESS OPENING OF THE TAILGATE.

When you’re standing in front of the vehicle with your hands full and wish to open the luggage compartment, there’s now no need to fumble in your pockets for the car key. The Comfort access system with automatic tailgate activation enables you to open the luggage compartment with your foot – a sensor triggers the tailgate, which unlocks and then swings open automatically.

DRIVING DYNAMICS & EFFICIENCY.

BMW EFFICIENT DYNAMICS TECHNOLOGY.

The combination of economical BMW TwinPower Turbo engines, intelligent lightweight construction and sophisticated aerodynamics form the basis in the BMW X1 for enhanced driving pleasure with reduced fuel consumption. Rounding off this approach are BMW EfficientDynamics technologies such as the standard-feature energy management with Automatic Start/Stop function and Brake Energy Regeneration. Options such as the 8-speed Steptronic transmission help to further increase efficiency and dynamics in the BMW X1.

BMW xDRIVE.

The intelligent BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system adapts perfectly to even the most challenging road surface conditions, ensuring optimal traction at all times. xDrive and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) ensure that the BMW remains safe and stable. Controlled via the DSC sensor system, xDrive flexibly and quickly distributes drive power between the axles in order to prevent oversteer or understeer on bends, thereby ensuring outstanding directional stability. Moreover, it guarantees a rapid, safe acceleration even on slippery or steep stretches. In critical road conditions, the DSC doesn't need to intervene as much. Thus, BMW xDrive combines all the advantages of an all-wheel drive system – traction, directional stability and driving safety – with classic BMW agility.

ECO PRO MODE.

The ECO PRO Mode helps drivers reduce their fuel consumption by up to 20 percent, depending on their driving style – according to an internal BMW fuel consumption study. The additional coasting function and ECO PRO Route offer an increased savings potential.

CONNECTED DRIVE SERVICES.

The equipment option ConnectedDrive Services forms the basis for using the personalised digital mobility assistant BMW Connected in the vehicle as well as the BMW ConnectedDrive functions, which provide the driver with a wide range of information, entertainment and service features while on the road.

 

The offer includes access to current location-based information such as weather and news, as well as an online search powered by GoogleTM and practical office functions. Services and features such as parking information, as well as travel and hotel guides can be accessed directly in the car without a smartphone via the ConnectedDrive menu.

 

Convenient, unlimited access to selected smartphone apps is also integrated. ConnectedDrive Services also provides access to the BMW ConnectedDrive Store, in which services and apps can be ordered and extended anytime and anywhere to suit the user's individual requirements. The equipment option ConnectedDrive Services offers all this and more, making every trip in a BMW a real experience.
