The BMW 8 Series Coupé opens a new chapter in BMW's design language.
Adrian van Hooydonk,

Head of BMW Group Design

Since its launch in 1989, the BMW 8 Series has been one of the milestones in the history of the BMW Coupé. Particularly the long, flat bonnet with the retractable headlights, the flowing lines, and the absence of the B pillars, and the steep rear end immediately catch the eye, and equally express the dynamics and elegance of the Coupé.
The values shown for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and energy consumption were determined according to European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version applicable at the time of type approval. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany, and the range shown considers optional equipment and the different size of wheels and tires available on the selected model. The values of some vehicles are already based on the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to ensure comparison between the vehicles. [With respect to these vehicles, for vehicle-related taxes or other duties based (at least inter alia) on CO2 emissions, the CO2 values may differ from the values stated here.] The CO2 efficiency specifications are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the European Regulation in its current applicable version. The values shown are based on fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumption according to the NEDC cycle for the classification. Further information about the official fuel consumption and the specific CO2 emission of new passenger cars may be found in the “Handbook of fuel consumption, CO2 emission and power consumption of new passenger cars”, which is available at all points of sale, and at https://www.dat.de/angebote/verlagsprodukte/leitfaden-kraftstoffverbrauch.html. Detailed information on the technical data can be found on your BMW country page.
