The reception building.

The BMW and MINI Driving Academy welcomes you to its training grounds, which are spread out over an area of around 130 hectares. All this space means that we are able to hold more than one driving safety training course or other active driving event at any given time. Because of this, we can offer numerous different packages to all kinds of users – corporate groups, agencies and private individuals. From internal driver training all the way to specialised passenger vehicle safety training, this is where you can gain supremacy at the wheel combined with safety on the road. The reception building totals 350 m² and reflects the character of the grounds as a whole. The building is divided into two areas: the BMW lounge on the ground floor is a central venue for events and catering, while the M Power Room on the floor above offers a terrace as a connecting element for events relating especially to the vehicles themselves.

Seminar rooms.

The grounds of the new, enlarged BMW driving safety centre offer the large BMW Hall for training courses and seminars, inside which are several theory rooms. This hall is a converted aircraft hangar which provides the perfect setting for the theory units offered by the BMW Driving Academy. These courses offer an important foundation upon which to build different skills such as steering, braking, and manoeuvring to avoid obstacles. Useful advice – such as how to hold the steering wheel properly – improves the safety of your driving.

The BMW Hall is a listed building and is also where all of the BMW models used at the BMW Driving Academy are maintained and prepared. Participants are provided with the very latest vehicles so that they can practice driving using up-to-the-minute vehicle assistance systems and experience their supporting effect in a range of different driving situations.

MORE ADRENALIN, MORE SAFETY.

The BMW dynamic area, incorporating four irrigated practice areas.

The four irrigated stretches of road are between 150 and 200 metres long. The training area totals 10 hectares, upon which participants can improve their handling skills and reactions. Irrigation can be used to simulate obstacles safely, and to change the nature of the road surface. This allows you to learn to control the vehicle, take responsibility, and drive confidently, when performing such manoeuvres as braking and avoiding things. This in turn helps you to recognise any critical driving situations that may arise, to master them, or to avoid them all together.

NO MORE DRY RUNS.

The dynamic area with irrigated circuits.

The dynamic area consists of three irrigated circuits with a diameter of 30 metres. This stretch of track allows certain aspects of vehicle control to be taught. Driving around a tight circular track demands particular abilities of a driver, and mastering these gives you mastery in everyday driving situations. Similarly useful for everyday situations are the training sessions on different surfaces such as ice, snow and sand.

STRAIGHTFORWARD.

A circuit with long straights.

With a width of 10 to 15 metres, the 1.8 kilometre circuit corresponds to between three and five lanes of a motorway. On this newly asphalted track, participants use BMW vehicles to practice at speeds of up to 100 kilometres per hour. This gives them an opportunity to gain mastery of vehicles under realistic conditions.

MAKE NEWTON LOOK OLD.

Circuit with slalom section and lane-changing.

The focus of this section is changing lanes quickly and mastering slaloms. What are the forces involved in the interplay between speed and steering action? How much concentration is required to master the slalom course? On this circuit, training participants will discover the answers.

The Hall, which is a listed building, offers an outstanding location for all kinds of active driving events. Vehicle-related events, special presentations, conferences, standing receptions and much more besides – there is plenty of space in this converted aircraft hangar for every kind of event and occasion.
