BMW AG (hereinafter referred to as “BMW”) designs its website to be accessible in accordance with the provisions of the ”Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz des Bundes (BFSG)”. This accessibility statement applies to the offer on the www.bmw.com website In particular, the BFSG obliges service providers among other things to design e-commerce services so that they are accessible and usable for people with disabilities in the usual way, without particular difficulty and, in principle, without external help. These requirements have been specified in more detail in the “Verordnung zum Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSGV) “, according to which state-of-the-art technology must always be observed. BMW offers various e-commerce services (hereinafter referred to as “services”) on its website that enable customers to purchase products and services online. The available services have been described below. Online content that is not part of the described services may not (yet) be completely accessible.

 

Ordering Vehicles Online

Ordering a vehicle online starts on the BMW Website homepage. Depending on availability, different options are available for vehicle orders:

  • Customers can purchase vehicles from BMW Partners online using the website and have them delivered by a BMW Partner.

 There are various ways to access these options:

New Vehicle Search or Used Vehicle Search. Customers can search for new or used cars with specific configurations. Once they have selected a vehicle, they can purchase, lease, finance or request consultation depending on availability. They can also view similar vehicles and/or add a vehicle to their wish list. The individual vehicle configuration in the Configurator. After having selected a basic vehicle, customers can create an individual configuration based on this vehicle. They can purchase, lease, finance or request consultation for the configured vehicle. They can also save their configuration, view a summary and view similar vehicles to the one configured. The decision between purchase, leasing or financing is made after having selected the vehicle as part of the checkout process. In the case of leasing or financing, the checkout process is followed by an online application for the financial service. This online application is provided on the BMW Financial Services websites. During checkout, customers can indicate their interest in having their vehicle traded in by participating trade-in partners and receive a non-binding estimate by entering their personal and vehicle details. A BMW user account (BMW ID) is not required to order a vehicle; in this case, the order can be submitted as a guest.

BMW ConnectedDrive.

Customers are provided with digital services for their vehicle in the BMW Online Store for BMW ConnectedDrive. They can add services for a vehicle they already own and purchase them online. The services offered depend on the customer's vehicle and may vary. A BMW ID is required, and the vehicle must be linked to the BMW ID.

Accessories and Services.

Customers are provided with extras for their driving experience in the BMW Online Store for Accessories. They can search for accessories for vehicles in different product categories and buy online. In addition to the vehicle, customers can also select parts and accessories online via the website in the New Vehicle Search or in the Configurator, depending on availability. Depending on availability, customers can also select service and maintenance packages for the vehicle online via the website in addition to the vehicle in the New Vehicle Search or in the Configurator.

Lifestyle.

The BMW Online Store for Lifestyle offers customers collections and accessories. They can search for and purchase items online in different product categories and using filters.

Online Appointment Scheduling.

Customers can book a service appointment with a BMW Partner using the Online Appointment Scheduling by selecting the desired, individual services for an already owned vehicle and an appointment. A BMW ID is required, and the vehicle must be linked to the BMW ID.

Test Drive.

Customers can book a test drive in a vehicle of a desired model series using Booking a Test Drive by entering their personal data and by selecting the desired date and time as well as the BMW Partner at which they want to go on this test drive. A BMW ID is required to book a test drive

Compliance with Accessibility Requirements.

BMW AG endeavors to make its website accessible in a variety of ways and to prepare it for the use of assistive technologies. For this purpose, the development of the websites complies with the technical standards of European standard EN 301 549 and the success criteria of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1referenced therein at conformity levels A and AA. The relevant subpages of the website also provide the information required in accordance with BFSG in an accessible manner.
